– The screening of 47 ambassadorial nominees commenced on Tuesday, July 26 at the National Assembly in Abuja– The screening was conducted by the Senate committee on foreign affairs – The screening of the nominees appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari lasted three daysSenate committee on foreign affairsThe Senate committee on foreign affairs has concluded the screening of all 47 ambassadorial nominees.The screening which lasted for threedays took place at the National Assembly in Abuja with Senator Monsurat Summonu chairing the committee.She thanked her colleagues and the press for their hardwork despite the recess.“We give Glory to God that 47 peoplehave been screened the exercise we started on Tuesday.“On behalf of the Senate being led byour Senate president, Bukola Saraki and all the principal v and the Senate committee on foreign affairs,I will like to express my gratitude to my colleagues for sacrificing their time.
“ They laid petitions last week and discussed the petition and agreed toscreen the 47 nominees.“This is a big sacrifice. We decided to cancel everything and put national interest first,” she said. Other committee members present at the meeting include Senator Eyinnaya Abaribe represen. Ung Abia South senatorial district, Senator Philip Aduda representing Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Senator Abdullahi Sabi, the Senate spokesperson among others.The ambassadorial nominees that were screened on the last day of the exercise are Bakor Aliyu Usman from katsina state, Eric Bell-gam from Rivers state, Inusa Ahmed fromNassarawa state, Bankole Adegboyega Adeoye from Ogun state and Attahiru Halliru from Sokoto state.Others include D. A Agev from Benuestate, T.
