Okere Chidiebere Comes Out With This:

"Some years back when the Central Bank of Nigeria released the yearly poverty indices as it pertains to each geo-political region in the country, the South East region had the least poverty index amongst the six political zone. That is to say, that the South East and by extension Igboland had the lowest rate of poverty when compared with other regions in the whole country. This didn't go down well with some people because they felt the CBN governor then, Professor Charles Soludo, an Igbo man, doctored the report to favour his zone and his people, Ndigbos.

Fast forward to 2017, the National Bureau of Statistics have also released   its report on the prevalence of bribery and corruption amongst the six(6) geo-political zones, and the South East region came out on top as the region with the least index depicting explicitly that it has the least rate of bribery and corruption in the whole federation in comparison to other regions. Now, will they also accuse the statistician-general of the federation, Mr. Yemi Kale, a Yoruba man, of doctoring the said report in favour of Ndigbos? Maybe and maybe not.

And if you could remember, a United Nations Report sometime last year, clearly stated that the South East is the most peaceful region in the country squashing all the negative attributes ascribed to Ndigbo and Igboland. This report also shocked them to their bone marrows. They never envisaged this.

Wait for it, because by the time indices for poor education, ritual killings, pipeline vandalisation, terrorism, religious intolerance, child marriages, area boyism, hooliganism, etc will be released, you and I know the zone(s) that will come out on top. Yet, they would always find it convenient to point their accusing fingers at the South East and Ndigbo.

Ndigbos seem to be something of an enigma to these people, not because we are invincible, but because their prejudices and hatred towards us will never allow them make good premises about us. Even when they are confronted with the most convincing facts, they still prefer to hang on to their old delusional stereotypes about Ndigbo. Why? Because it soothes their narratives. Have their bickering and prejudices hindered us in any way? No! So, the reason why we try to set the record straight is to tell our success stories because they themselves and their biased media would not like to do this as it makes them look inferior to us kind of.

But, are they inferior to us? No!

Are they superior to us? No, never!

To the average Igbo man or woman, we believe we are equally as gifted as any nationality or race on earth. We believe we have the innate abilities to succeed in any human endeavor there is on earth. We believe we are the light of the black race. We believe that given the right atmosphere to explore our God-given ingenuity, that our Land will do well comparatively to other notable economies of the world.

The long and short of it all is that we believe so much in ourselves. And how can it be said that a people like Ndigbos who believe in themselves given the wealth of history they can draw upon to buttress their convictions be said to be a proud people?

Is being proud of ones achievement a crime? Yes, only when the Igbo man is involved!

Nigeria sucks!

Can't wait for Biafra to materialize."
