Biafra agitation is a self-determination struggle by the people of the Old Eastern Region of Nigeria(Biafrans). It is a struggle for survival that has lasted for over five (5) decades, and currently being championed by the Indigenous People of Biafra(IPOB), ably and supremely led by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the IPOB Supreme leader doubles as a British citizen.
In June 2021, Kanu was kidnapped at Kenya by the Nigerian secret police in collaboration with their Kenyan counterparts with the support of Britain. He was tortured, renditioned to Nigeria against his rights, and against national and international laws.
It is necessary to clarify that Nnamdi Kanu travelled to Kenya as a British Citizen with a British passport. Notwithstanding, the Nigeria government and the British still criminally renditioned him extraordinarily. The British government has done near to nothing in using its diplomatic sanctions to demand the rights of Kanu, their citizen, compared to as they would shamelessly do if it were the Russian Federation that is holding their citizen illegally.
The world must understand the level of hypocrisy being exhibited by the British government and their Western allies, especially the United States. They have remained silent on injustice against Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and other innocent Biafran activists who are languishing in various Nigerian prisons and detention facilities, under solitary confinement and other inglorious and inhumane places.
The only crime these suffering Biafrans committed was to agitate for their right to freedom, asking for a referendum for Biafra. The Western world's hypocrisy is second to none and they would want us to believe that Russia and China are the problem of the world when they are the actual problem the world is facing, as a result of their unsatisfying taste in stealing the resources of the African people.
The call for a Biafra referendum by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and the IPOB he leads, is not a call for war. The Europeans live according to their ethnic lines and tribes. So, Africans should be allowed to choose how and whom to live with through a peaceful referendum as Biafrans are asking.
The British government, The United States of America and their European allies are forcing millions of people from different ethnic groups who share nothing in common to live in a failed state called Nigeria, just for their selfish interests, despite the constant killing of innocent people and high level of corruption, which all results from the disagreement and disunity between the entrapped different ethnic groups. The British government and their closest ally - the United States are not interested in the well-being of the people living in Nigeria, they are only interested in the natural resources they can steal or pipe away like the gas pipeline passing through Niger Republic to Europe.
The British government and the United States are using corrupt politicians to keep Africans in perpetual suffering and poverty, especially in Nigeria. The Biafran people are tired of living in poverty amid plenty of resources we naturally have. Biafra have the human resources that can compete with others in the world to advance the world positively, both in science and technology.
Biafrans want to go back to the way we were before the Europeans came and forced Nigeria on us.
In the '90s, the United States of America, the British government and their European allies selfishly worked tirelessly to see that the Soviet Union disintegrated and was divided into ethnic groups hoping to weaken Russia. But today, same people want thousands of different ethnic groups to forcefully live together in Nigeria due to their selfish interest in our natural resources.
We call on the Russian Federation and their state media to give audience to the plight of Biafrans, that of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu (the illegally detained leader of IPOB) and of other innocent Biafran activists excruciatingly detained in several Nigeria detention facilities. And in same vein, add voice to the call by Biafran freedom agitators who are asking that a Referendum be granted the Biafran people to enable us decide our own fate by ourselves.
