WHY I STAND WITH BIAFRA- Written by an Ijaw Man.(Pls Share)
The agitation for self determination within the Biafran enclave started with our Ijaw Hero Isaac Jasper Adaka Boro when he declared the Ijaw Nation.
This republic lasted for about eight days as the British crushed the effort of Isaac Boro under the leadership of an Igbo man as Nigerian president which put an end to the Ijaw Nation.
This annoyed the Ijaws, shortly after that the Igbos called for sovereignty of the whole Biafra which included the Ijaws and the Ijaws rejected and radically fought against it as the pains were still fresh.
As a result of that, the Igbos, Ijaws, Ogonis and the other tribes in Biafra land lost their sovereignty to Nigeria.
Many years later, Ogoni rose and Kenule Saro Wiwa also called for sovereignty but rather lost his head instead.
The big question is this:
Beyond our differences and misunderstandings, what do we want? I'm sure the answer is FREEDOM AND CONTROL OF RESOURCES.
When there's a common need, then there should be a common goal which should inspire a common movement.
We have fought dividedly and we failed one after the other, why don't we try unity and see whether we will succeed?
Remember that Biafra is our parent name, a name revealed to Ojukwu by our Ijaw brother and Uncle.
Don't ever forget, United we stand, divided we fall.
Biafra is our last hope to get back our inheritance which other Nations(Oduduwa and Arewa) have stolen away from us.
Let us calm down and realise our errors, let us embrace BIAFRA as what we were before and forget whatever that happened in the past bcos it happened to all of us one after the other and Nigeria benefited from it while we lost everything in our land.
If we lose our freedom this time we will lose it forever. Let the Ijaws forgive the Igbos and the Ogonis, let the Igbos forgive the Ijaws and the Ogonis, let also the Ogonis forgive the Ijaws and the Igbos.
In the name of God may we never lose our FREEDOM again, AMEN!
