Nnamdi Kanu started his London Radio broadcast in the year 2014, I tuned my radio on and heard a voice saying "This is Radio Biafra live Broadcast" and was very surprise, but as at that time nobody took him serious, even the then "President Goodluck Jonathan" ignored him, but immediately Buhari came into power with his Northern Islamic ideology that believes that everything can be achieved by killing and maiming people to subdue them and keep them captive, he - Buhari started making plans to stop his Radio Biafra broadcast, they spent a lot of money but at the end, they failed woefully. They now resorted to kidnapping, killing, intimidating and detaining his followers. All of a sudden the whole scenario started becoming more interesting, people became more curious that they all wanted to know exactly what this man Kanu did/said that got Buhari mad to the extent that we wanted to eliminate him by any possible means, at a point, people started saying " Oh kanu is saying the truth, no wonder they want to eliminate him, he is very honest and fearless even in the presences of these vampires that kills anybody that say's the truth, He speaks our mind too, so we must support him".
At this stage, Buhari's led government and his Northern cabals instead of inviting Kanu and his group to a round table to discuss and resolve the matter, they decided to get him arrested.
Kanu announced coming to Biafra on air, upon his arrival that very day in Lagos, Nigeria, the Department of State Services (DSS) kidnapped him from his hotel room, tortured him for months and later took him to court when they noticed that his followers have played a fast run on them by announcing his kidnap on air.
They took him to court and charged him with series of unbelievable charges but yet he maintained his stand saying that all he wanted is the freedom of his own people and nothing-less. In his own words "Is either you give me Biafra or you kill me as simple as that. Give us referendum, that will determine the future of my people". He never wanted to take over or unseat the seating President of Nigeria, his stands were very clear and understandable. To restore the dignity and sovereignty of his people which is BIAFRA.
There were lots of protests for his unconditional release in the whole of South East and South-South regions. On several occasions he was granted bail unconditionally and his case was discharged and acquitted by a court but instead of Buhari and his follow Northern cabals to obey court order, release him and conduct referendum as requested, they became more annoyed, after all "I am the President and the commander in chief of all armed forces in Nigeria", I can do anything and nothing will happen. So he ordered for more killings of the Biafran People.
They were killed in hundreds and many were kidnapped and detained unlawfully, at this end people of good conscience started speaking up and condemning their actions. Even the International media that was paid to keep mute, started talking and writing about the happenings in Nigeria, Amnesty international reported their little out of the huge crimes against humanity meted on Biafran people.
Nnamdi Kanu became more popular for his bravery and boldness even in the presence of his enemies. Then after all the series of drama that took place in the Abuja court, he was later released with the funniest bail condition ever. We're still watching as the event unfolds itself.
Nnamdi kanu is a HERO that can never be forgotten in a hurry.
